Adel is not only the place where I have been very fortunate to fulfill a career, it is my hometown and where I hope to spend my life. I have been City Manager since June 1, 1998 after serving as City Clerk and Finance Director since December, 1978.

The City of Adel enacted a Council/Manager form of government in 1970 to administer the ordinances and policies of the Mayor and Council. This form of local government remains in place today and has been very effective in the daily administration and operations of the City of Adel. The City Manager is appointed and serves at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council. Specific duties include preparation of the annual budget for presentation and adoption by the elected officials following public hearings, administration of personnel, execution of approved contracts, supervision of all City operations including public safety, public works and utility departments and present financial reports to the elected officials.
